Ok, it’s been a minute kiddies. I’d come up with some bogus excuse for why you haven’t seen this in about two months, but that’s a waste of your time. I’ve missed a lot this summer. Therefore, this addition will be devoted to what my favorite summer kicks were. For all three of my regular readers, I hope you dig this.
Writers note: I can’t promise a new run down every week, actually, a monthly installment is more likely with my rigorous junior year homework schedule. However, I want to keep the name the same because moccasins of the month sounds like something only Tom Brady would read (if you have any suggestions leave them in the comment section). I digress, let’s just get into sneaks of the summer.
The Run

Name: Human Race
It’s easy to see that the popularity spike of Adidas is going nowhere in the near future. Kanye really can galvanize his fan base, can’t he? Oh, my god, he could actually win in 2020.
Anyway, Ye’s positive influence has branched out to all aspects of the three stripes brand. The Adidas NMD is a distinguished example of this.
The nomad has been crushing it over the last couple of months due to its lightweight construction, breathable mesh upper, and the comfort of boost. You can pick about 20 hot colorways to fill this spot but I’m going to highlight my personal favorite.
Creative genius Pharrell Williams has been working with Adidas for far longer than Yeezy, but outside of a few brightly colored Stan Smith’s, hasn’t received even sniffed the same cashier. That is until he got his fingers on the NMD.
The Adidas Nomad “human race” is a masterpiece from heel to toe. A unique take on the fantastically hyped sneaker re-injected it with a burst of creativity and inspiration. The shoe really speaks. Like it actually, says human race in bold black letters on the shoe. Tied together by an edgy new lacing system, the human race was definitely a high-water mark this summer. I personally prefer the green pair.

Silhouette: Huarache
Name: NikeXUndftd SoCal Lowrider
With their hands forced by external pressure, the swoosh was forced into a summer of comfortable, casual kicks. One of which, they had to reach back into the vault for.
Thank God, they did. This summer was the summer of the Huarache. A 90’s gem, the Huarache is actually based off of a popular 60’s sandal also called Huarache. However, just bringing back Huaraches on a grand scale wasn’t enough.
Nike went and did it with this one. We are all aware of the magic Nike can create when they team up with LA-based streetwear brand UNDFTD, but this is on a different level than any pair of olive and orange fours.
The SoCal Lowrider is straight Butter. All you have to do is look at that Crenshaw High blue suede and you know it’s game over.
Paying homage to the southern California car culture with an iridescent cage and tongue tab tie it off with a splash of flash. This was my favorite release this summer and I’m definitely saving pennies to cop a pair.

Name: Champagne
It was a big summer for Jumpman. The Olympics have brought up a golden season of sorts for everything Jordan. Whether it be the Golden Toe 11’s or the Gold Coin 5’s the nonstop stream of gold kicks has constantly been met with people begging for more. One of these golden shoes was the Jordan 8 “Champagne.”
Celebrating another one of Mike’s six championships, the illustrious championship pack series went back to work with the 8s. The champagne pair is half of a set alongside the Cigar 8 which is also very nice.
However, the silky nubuck and extravagant detailing of the Champagnes appealed to my sensibilities more. Chrome gold heal hits and finger prints take the main stage on this shoe.
The fingerprints are supposed to represent those that are left on a cold champagne bottle and are actually molded off MJ’s own fingers. Gilded strap holders just wrapped up a preconceived conclusion for me. I definitely picked up a pair of these.

SOMETHING NEW
Y’all thought I was done? Nah. It’s been so long I thought I’d give a little bit extra. Every
sneakerhead knows that the shoes are only part of the equation.
You can’t really stunt on anyone if you are wearing a pair of Red Octobers with Jorts and a short sleeved plaid button down. The point is that what you wear with your kicks is also very important. Therefore, I’ll be shining the spotlight on a brand that I’m feeling each month.
Lately, I’ve been feeling 10deep heavy. I’ve bought three or four pieces from them as of late and I’ve been pleased every time.
With an inventory ranging from acid washed flannels to Lil B themed tee shirts, the brand really has it all. Also, the quality is great and the quick service is even better. I definitely recommend them.
